Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the Jila mobile application and the jila.io website (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Jila is a companion application that connects to compatible wireless voice recorder hardware, transfers recordings to your device, optionally uploads them to backend storage, and generates AI-powered transcripts. Jila is an independent application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any hardware manufacturer. Product and brand names are the property of their respective owners.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
3. Your Content
You retain all rights to your recordings and transcripts ("Your Content"). By uploading Your Content, you grant us only the limited rights needed to operate the Service: storing your files, transmitting them to the transcription provider you use, and returning transcripts to you. We claim no ownership of Your Content and will not use it for advertising or AI training.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Record any person without consent where consent is required by law. You are solely responsible for complying with recording and wiretapping laws in your jurisdiction.
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to store unlawful content.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users' data, or related systems.
- Reverse engineer, resell, or interfere with the operation of the Service, except where permitted by law.
5. AI Transcripts
Transcripts are generated automatically by AI and may contain errors. They are provided for convenience and should not be relied upon as accurate records for legal, medical, or other critical purposes without independent verification.
6. Third-Party Services and Hardware
The Service interoperates with third-party hardware (your voice recorder) and third-party services (such as transcription APIs and sign-in providers). We are not responsible for the availability, performance, or terms of third-party products and services.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data loss will never occur. Keep backups of important recordings.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall Jila or its operators be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenue, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim, or USD 50 if you have paid nothing.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if you violate these Terms. Upon termination you may request deletion of your data per our Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to the Service and Terms
We may modify the Service or these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of Vietnam, unless mandatory consumer law in your country of residence provides otherwise.
